Cinnamon Apple Scones with Caramel Glaze

Five cinnamon apple scones drizzled with caramel glaze lay on a parchment paper. Apple slices decorate the parchment paper. To the top left is a mason jar of caramel glaze and the the bottom left of it is two cinnamon sticks.

Happy Apple Season!!

While the crisper days of Fall are upon us, you may be gearing up to enjoy apple picking or a bag of local apples at your grocery store.

Although there are many different apple varieties to choose from this season (approximately 7,500 apple varieties around the world, to be exact!), not all apples are best suited for baking.

When selecting apples to bake with, lean on Honeycrisp (a family favourite here!), Cortland, Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, Pink Lady, Ida Reds, or good ole, McIntosh apples.

These apples hold up to the heat of baking without going mushy or becoming dehydrated. They also retain their sweet-tart flavour while balancing well with strong spices like cinnamon, ginger, or nutmeg.
